The Grand Canyon Hotel in Williams, Arizona continues to advertise rooms for $3.50 and up. Williams was founded in the late 1800's by lumbermen, ranchers, and railroaders. Located on Route 66 Williams was also the last section of Route 66 to be bypassed by the interstate. Located 60 miles south of the South Entrance to the Grand Canyon Williams is a popular tourist destination and also the terminus for the Grand Canyon Railway and its trains into the Grand Canyon.
