Exhaust heat generated by the Pratt & Whitney F119 turbofans distort the surrounding air. The F-22 Raptor first entered service in 2005 after 20 years of development. In December of 2011 the 195th, and final, F-22 Raptor rolled off the Lockheed assembly line.
