The Snake River flows over Shoshone Falls in Idaho five miles east of Twin Falls. Shoshone Falls is often referred to as the "Niagara of the West" due to its height of 212 feet, which is 36 feet higher than Niagara Falls and its 900 foot wide rim. Summer irragation and dams upstream limit the waters flow in the summertime. Photographed 08/06
