British built de Havilland Vampire in Royal Navy markings rounds the pylons during Jet Class racing at the 2009 National Championship Races in Reno, Nevada. The prototype of the Vampire first flew in 1943 and a production version first took flight in 1945. The aircraft flew with front line RAF squadrons until 1955.
