The United States Navy Destroyer USS Higgins (DDG-76) sails into San Franciso Bay in front of the Fort Baker Marina as part of the Parade of Ships during the 2006 San Francisco Fleet Week activities. The USS Higgins was named after William R. Higgins (1945-1990), a United States Marine Corps Colonel who was captured by a pro-Iranian group allied with Hezbollah and held hostage in February 1988. At the time of his capture he was serving on a United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon and was killed while in captivity. Photographed 10/06
