A Mitsubishi built A6M3 Zero fighter in flight during an air show at Madera, California, in May of 2009. One of three still flying in the world today the aircraft was recovered from New Guinea in 1991, restored, and returned to flying condition in 1998. The aircraft is flown regularly by the Southern california Wing of the Commemerative Air Force.
