A 1943 Boeing N2S in civilian colors sits on the Merced, California, ramp. Restored to flying condition by Jim and Marie Long of Chico, California. this aircraft was awarded the trophy for "Ex-Military Aircraft (no markings)" at the 2007 Merced Antique Fly-In. In the 1930's and 40's there were 8584 Stearman Model 75's produced. Known to the Navy as the N2S and the Army Air Corps as the Kaydet, the ruggedly constructed biplane design was used extensively by both as a trainer aircraft. Photographed 05/07
