An F-15 Eagle from the Oregon Air National Guard's 142nd Fighter Wing streaks skyward with afterburners on. Departing Nevada's Stead Field in September, 2007, the aircraft were grounded in November of 2007 when a manufacturing defect in the longeron of the early models was discovered after a Missouri Air National Guard F-15 broke apart in flight.
