The Yerba Buena Lighthouse sits on the south side of Yerba Buena Island in San Francisco Bay. The lighthouse first became operational in 1875 and was automated in 1958. The Fifth Order Fresnal Lens in the light tower was installed in 1886 and is still operational. The former lightkeepers house above the lighthouse now serves as a home for Coast Guard Admirals.
