A Calfire Grumman S2-T Turbo Tracker based in Columbia, California, gets airborne in response to a forest fire. The Turbo Tracker is a civilian conversion of the Navy's S-2 Tracker. The Calfire fleet, formerly California Department of Forestry, includes 23 of the Turbo Trackers located throughout the state. Each aircraft is capable of carrying 1200 gallons of water or retardant and able to reach a fire within 20 minutes. Photographed 06/07
