An obelisk marks the location of the Fish Springs Pony Express Station in Utah's Great Salt Lake Desert. The route followed by the Pony Express near Fish Springs was later used as part of the Lincoln Highway, the first transcontinental auto road, starting in 1913. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) erected numerous markers in 1939 and 1940 to mark the location of Pony Express stations. Photographed 07/07
