The 380 foot tall Fajada Butte rises above the valley floor in Chaco Culture National Historic Park. The ruins of about two dozen dwellings have been found in the higher cliff bands, which can be reached now only with rock-climbing gear or via a steep 40-foot "chimney'' cutting through sandstone rock.
