Phillippine Mars spends the morning before it's final flight anchored in the seaplane lagoon at the former NAS Alameda. Phillipine Mars,  built as a JRM-1 (BuNo 76820) was later converted to a JRM-3, was delivered to the USN on June 26, 1946 and assigned to VR-2 at NAS Alameda. The aircraft was retired from service on August 22, 1956 and sold in 1959 to Flying Tankers Inc. where it was converted into a firefighting aircraft. In 2007 Phillipine Mars and its sister aircraft Hawaii Mars were purchased by the Coulson Group. On February 10th, 2025 the Phillipine Mars made it's final flight to Lake Pleasant, AZ, where it will be dissembled and trucked to the Pima Air Museum in Tucson.
