The United States Coast Guard Cutter Alert (WMEC-630) sails under the Golden Gate Bridge as part of the 2007 San Francisco Fleet Week Parade of Ships. Originally commissioned in 1969 the Alert was refurbished in 1993 to extend the ships service life, modernize crew quarters, update electronics systems and redesign of major engineering and damage control spaces. The mission of the Alert is to protect federal fisheries and enforce contraband and immigration laws. Photographed 10/07
