A United States Coast Guard 47 foot Motor Lifeboat based at Station Golden Gate searches the waters of San Francisco Bay for a PIW (Person In Water) after a report of a person jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Station Golden Gate operates 3 of the 47 foot MLB's and is responsible for the coastal and offshore water near the San Francisco Bay Area. The MLB is built to withstand the most severe conditions at sea and are self-bailing, self-righting, and almost unsinkable. Photographed 4/26/08
